PURPOSE: To correct a contrast of a picture with high accuracy at all times by removing automatically a foreign material such as paper powder or dust adhered onto a white level reference board regardless of simple configuration to keep the white level reference board clean at all times.
CONSTITUTION: In an original moving type information reader in which a white board 17 being a white level reference board for correcting contrast of a picture is read prior to read of an original D and the white board 17 is moved from a carrier face of the original D to an escaping position, a foreign material removal means 30 having a brush 31 being a foreign material removal member is provided on the way of a moving path of the white board 17 and the white board 17 is in contact with the brush 31 attended with the movement of the white board 17 to wipe out a foreign material such as paper powder or dust adhered to the white board 17 and to keep the white board 17 clean thereby correcting the contrast of the picture with high accuracy at all times.
