Information is recorded on the recording tracks of the DVD 1. The information is divided into a plurality of VOBUs which are respectively constituted by control information including main video information that is an accessible unit, audio information and access information. Moreover, on the DVD 1, PGCI is recorded. The PGCI includes reproducing procedure information which regulates the reproducing procedure of the video information and the audio information and a first search prohibiting flag which indicates to prohibit a search operation over a plurality of cells. An information reproducing device S2 is provided with a system controller 100 which controls respective sections of the device S2 so that no performance is conducted when a search operation is specified and the operation is prohibited by a first operation prohibiting flag.
