Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain an information recording medium having high reflectance, excellent recording/reproducing characteristics and excellent durability such as lightfastness by laminating a recording layer of phthalocyanine coloring matter having a specific substituent and a metallic reflective layer on a substrate having pregroups and/or prepits.
CONSTITUTION: A recording layer composed of a coloring matter which can records information by means of a laser beam and a metallic reflective layer are laminated in the order on a disc substrate provided with pregroups and/or prepits in the surface thereof to produce an information recording medium, wherein a phthalocyanine coloring matter represented by M(Pc)m is employed. M represents two hydrogen atoms, a metal, a metal oxide or a metallic halide, Pc represents a phthalocyanine bivalent ion shown by formula I, and (m) represents 1 or 2. In the formula, W, X, Y and Z represent second, third, fourth and fifth substitutents of benzene ring, respectively.
