To solve the problem in a conventional information terminal with a short range wireless communication means that it has to confirm peripheral devices and instruct setting/start of functions on every occasion of eve a routine job, resulting in causing inconvenience.

The information terminals 1 is provided with; a list generating means that uses a short range wireless communication means to makes wireless communication connection to each communication unit existing around the terminal 1 and to confirm the presence of each unit and generates a communication unit list resulting from arranging the confirmation results; a similarity calculation means that compares the communication unit list at a present place detected by the list generating means and a communication unit list stored in advance and in cross-reference with prescribed functions to calculate the similarity between them; and an automatic function setting means reads prescribed functions in cross-reference with the communication unit list stored in advance in a list storage means and sets the functions depending on the similarity calculated by the similarity calculation means.
