PURPOSE: To directly convert printed contents to a transmission signal for a facsimile (FAX) equipment and to improve operation efficiency by converting a specified document to transmission image data and transmitting the image data through a transmitting equipment.

CONSTITUTION: An electronic computer 1 is provided with a data word storing part 1A for storing data words to be the source of printing contents of a document to be outputted from a printer device, a format word storing part 1B and a transmission requesting means 5. A line calling equipment 6 connects a FAX equipment to a telephone line 7 based on a terminating subscriber specified from the means 5. Then a document specified from the means 5 is converted into transmission image data to be data for the FAX equipment 4 based on data words and format words stored in respective storing parts 1A, 1B and the converted data are ent to the transmitting equipment 3. The equipment 3 sends the transmitting image data to the line 7 and the equipment 6 automatically connect the line 7 to the FAX equipment 4 based upon the line number of the FAX equipment to be transmitted.
