Abstract:

To provide a new inhibitor for AGE (advanced glycation end-product) formation.

The invention relates to the inhibitor for AGE formation consisting of an arylcarboxylic acid derivative represented by general formula (1) or its salt or their solvates as an active ingredient, [in the formula, R1 is a 1-6C alkyloxy group, a 3-14C (substituted) carbon ring or a 5-14 membered (substituted) heterocyclic group, A and X are each independently a single bond or a 1-6C alkylene group, Y is a single bond, -O-(1-6C alkylene group)- group or -NH-(1-6C alkylene group)-, Z is an oxygen atom or N-R2 (wherein the R2 is a 1-6C alkyl group or a (1-6C alkylene group)-(CO)n-R3, R3 is NR4R5, a piperidino group or a morpholino group, R4 and R5 are each the same or different H, or a 1-6C alkyl group, and n is 0 or 1)].
