Abstract:

PURPOSE: To preserve the fuel injection quantity characteristics for a long time against aging changes of a needle valve due to abrasion, etc. by providing a correction/control means detecting the needle valve lift characteristics of a fuel injection nozzle and correcting the control quantity of a control sleeve.

CONSTITUTION: The needle valve lift signal from a needle valve sensor 15 is input to a control circuit 21, where the correction/control quantity Δx of a control sleeve 3 corresponding to the vairation of the fuel injection quantity due to aging changes of the lift characteristics of a needle valve 18 is calculated based on the needle valve lift signal, and an added value (x+Δx) that Δx is added to the initial preset control quantity (x) determined based on the engine speed and load detection signal is output to a control sleeve driving actuator as a control signal. A sensor 10 detecting the position of the sleeve 3 is provided to an injection pump 11, and the control sleeve 3 is controlled at the place where the feedback signal output from the sensor 10 to the circuit 21 is in balance with the control signal output from the circuit 21 to the actuator.
