Abstract:
PURPOSE: To make the exhaustion of ink detectable beforehand by providing an ink residual amount detection means.
CONSTITUTION: This apparatus has a recording head recording data on a recording medium using ink and the ink cartridge 316 supplying ink to the head and also has a detection part 318 detecting the residual amount of the ink cartridge 316 in a plurality of stages, a display LED 328 displaying the exhaustion of ink and a CPU 324. The CPU 324 displays ink exhaustion on the ink exhaustion display LED 328 corresponding to the detection showing that the residual amount of ink reaches a predetermined first stage of the detection part 318 and continues recording operation and interrpting recording operation while the ink exhaustion display of the ink exhaustion display LED 328 is performed corresponding to the detection showing that the residual amount of ink reaches a predetermined second stage of the detection part 318.
