Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink which is stable, exhibits excellent pining quality and water resistance, and given a favorable deep time by adding a core-shell emulsion polymer tetrafluoroethylene emulsion polymer to an ink contg. an insoluble colorant.
SOLUTION: A core-shell emulsion polymer or a tetrafluoroethylene emulsion polymer in an amt. effective for improving the preservability of an image is compounded into an ink contg. a water-base carrier medium, and an insoluble colorant. The core-shell emulsion polymer is in the form of particles each comprising two distinct separate phases having different glass transition temperatures (Tg) and is obtd. by adding the second monomer after the first monomer is completely consumed by reaction. Usually the particle comprises 55-95wt.% polymer segments having the lower Tg and 5-45wt.% polymer segments having the higher Tg. The amt. of the emulsion polymer in the ink is 0.01-20wt.%.
