Title:
INK JET PRINTING HEAD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3679166
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the structure of an ink jet printing head compact to enable high-grade printing by connecting an ink sump to ink emitting chambers and providing the primary grooves connected to the secondary grooves at the second end of the ink sump to the ink sump at the first end thereof.
SOLUTION: An ink jet printing cartridge 10 is equipped with an ink sump 12 and a printing head 14 and the printing head 14 is formed by tape automated bonding and has a nozzle member 16 consisting of two parallel rows of the eccentric holes or orifices 17 formed to a flexible polymer circuit 18, for example, by laser grinding. Conductive passages 36 are formed on the rear surface of the flexible polymer circuit 18 by usual photolithographic etching and terminate in large contact pads 20 constituted so as to be mutually connected to a printer. The contact pads 20 of the printing cartridge 10 come into contact with printing electrodes to apply the energizing signal generated in the outside to a printing head 14.
