PURPOSE: To make it possible to deal with modification in position of a plurality of recording heads and make it easier to recognize the type of ink by making each of ink feed parts of a movable member communicate with an ink connection part of each recording head and positioning each ink connection part in different locations corresponding to the position of each ink feed part.

CONSTITUTION: The moment an electric connection part 2-1 of a recording head 1-1 for yellow is inserted into an electric connection part of a carriage 6, an ink connection part 3-1 is brought into engagement with an ink feed part 9-1, so that an electric connection and ink feed channel for the head 1-1 are established. Electric connection and ink feed channel for a recording head 1-2 for magenta, 1-3 for cyan and 1-4 for black are established in a similar manner, in which, since the ink connection parts 3-1 - 3-4 are in different positions (each has an ink storage of different shape), each of the heads 1-1 - 1-4 insures an ink feed at different position in a direction of Y corresponding to each of the ink feed parts 9-1 - 9-4.
