Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a water-base pigment ink which can give a print having good density and quality and excellent reliability by adding an aqueous medium and a pigment dispersion containing polyethyleneimine to an ink.
CONSTITUTION: An ink containing an aqueous medium and a pigment dispersion containing polyethyleneimine as a dispersant is provided. The pH of this ink is desirably in the range of 4-11 because it sometimes causes the corrosion of various members of an ink jet recorder, and therefore a pH adjuster may be added to the ink. A desirable example of the aqueous medium used is a mixture of water with a water-soluble organic solvent, and it is desirable that the water is not common water containing various ions but ion-exchanged water (deionized water).
