PURPOSE: To move a wide ink ribbon between a platen roller and a recording head by constituting an ink ribbon cassette so that the ink ribbon is wound around a winding reel from a feeding reel through an aperture part.
CONSTITUTION: An ink ribbon reel 65 wound with an ink ribbon 68 on the feed side is freely rotatably held and kept in a reel case 61. An ink ribbon reel 66 fixed with the tip of the ink ribbon 68 on the winding side is freely rotatably held in a reel case 62. The reel cases 61, 62 are spaced apart by a predetermined interval and connected in parallel by connecting side plates 63 at both end parts and also formed into a frame shape having an aperture part 64 in the nearly central part of a plane. When the ink ribbon reel 66 in the winding side is rotated, the ink ribbon 68 is wound around the ink ribbon reel 66 from the ink ribbon reel 65 through the aperture part 64. Thereby the wide ink ribbon is pinched between a platen roller and a recording head together with recording paper and moved.
