Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent a damage of a reservoir sidewall by a pressure regulator by stably supporting the regulator for giving a negative pressure into the reservoir in a storage unit.
CONSTITUTION: In the ink storage reservoir shrinkable to maintain a negative pressure in a liquid ink cartridge, a pressure regulator 30 having a spring 60 for generating a negative pressure in an ink bag 5 by pressing its sidewall is provided in the bag 5 having flexible sidewalls 22, 24. The spring is tensioned to an inner surface of the sidewall of the bag through plate members 40, 50 to position the regulator. Edge guards 41, 51 for preventing damage of a plate member edge to the sidewall are provided at the members.
