In this inkjet image forming method, the image is formed by ejecting water-soluble dye ink, containing at least water-dispersible polymer particles, onto an inkjet recording medium wherein at least one ink absorbing layer including inorganic particles is provided on a non-water-absorbing substrate; a coefficient of dynamic friction between the front side and backside of the inkjet recording medium is in a range of 0.2-0.5; and an ink droplet quantity per operation for ejecting the water-soluble dye ink is in a range of 1.0-3.0 pl (picoliters).
