To provide characteristics such that (1) a print medium prevents an overflow of ink and a treatment liquid, (2) the print medium does not undergo cockling, (3) a recording apparatus prevents a backside see-through state, (4) the recording apparatus prevents bleeding, (5) the recording apparatus brings about quick-drying properties, and (6) the recording medium brings about a high density, even if the ink and the treatment liquid containing a substance for insolubilizing or coagulating a coloring material in the ink are ejected onto both sides by using the print medium with a small ink absorbing capacity, in the inkjet recording apparatus which enables double face printing.

This inkjet recording apparatus has: a characteristic area wherein the quantity of the treatment liquid ejected onto a second surface in a part wherein the patterns of the ejection of the treatment liquid onto the first and second surfaces overlap each other on the front and back sides of the print medium is (1) made smaller than that of the ejected treatment liquid in a non-overlap part, and (2) made smaller when the quantity of the treatment liquid ejected onto the first surface corresponding to a position on the backside of the part is large; and a characteristic area wherein the quantity of the treatment liquid ejected onto the second surface in the above part is made larger when the quantity of the ink ejected to the same position on the second surface is large.
