Title:
INPUT DEVICE FOR INFORMATION PROCESSING SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH03105414
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce the movement of the line of sight and the vertical motion of the hand in the middle of an operation and to reduce the fatigue of the eye and hand by providing a coordinate detection means detecting a plane X-Y coordinate and a switch means inputting the detected coordinate on the same plane.

CONSTITUTION: A coordinate input part 5 is constituted by the XY-coordinate detection part 20 and a finger depression detection part 21 on the same plane. A driver/receiver DR 22 transmits two drive D signals in X and Y directions to the detection part 20, and the D signal to the detection part 21. The detection part 20 transmits two reception R signals in the X and Y directions to DR 22 and the detection part 21 transmits the R signal to DR 22. An input part 5 can instruct the input of the coordinate to the mainbody device by fingers by light-emitting/light-receiving diodes and the pressure sensitive panel of the detection part 21. Thus, the movement of the line of sight between a display part and an input device and the vertical motion of the hand, in the middle of the operation can be reduced and operability can be improved, whereby the fatigue of the eyes and the hands can be reduced.
