Abstract:
To provide an input device and electronic equipment having a sensing means for sensing, without making contact, information on the rotation of a rotor rotated by a user, and capable of keeping supplying sensing signals of high reliability, with sensing performance not deteriorated even after a long period of use.
The input device is provided with a rotor held in such a manner as to be freely rotated and depressed upon contact with the user's fingertip. The rotor has a permanent magnet. The non-contact sensing means is provided for sensing, based on the detection of the polarity of the permanent magnet, the direction and amount of rotation inputted to the rotor.
