PURPOSE: To allow the exact and rapid inspection of a planographic printing plate by toning the electrostatic latent image formed in accordance with the image information of the planographic printing plate to be inspected onto a photoconductive film by utilizing the reflected light from the printing plate.
CONSTITUTION: A light source 11 for irradiating the planographic printing plate with rays, an optical means 10 for introducing the reflected light to the photoconductive film 1 and exposing the film, an electrifying means 20 for electrifying the photoconductive film 1, and the toning means 30 for toning the electrostatic latent image formed on the film 1 according to the image information of the printing plate are provided. Toners are, therefore, attracted to the part of the photoconductive layer where the potential is lower than the potential of this toners and the toners stick to the region 7 corresponding to the image part, by which the image of the PS plate is reproduced. The planographic printing plate is exactly and rapidly inspected in this way.
