PURPOSE: To provide an inspection device for the floating of a magnetic shielding plate capable of automatically and moreover accurately inspecting the floating of the magnetic shielding plate.

CONSTITUTION: This device is provided with a panel supporting part 1 for placing supporting a panel glass 4, a pressing member 2 for pressing a magnetic shielding plate 7 to the panel glass 4 side in a condition wherein the panel glass 4 is supported by the panel supporting part 1, and a measuring device 3 for measuring the separation distance of the magnetic shielding plate 7 to a measuring reference point pre-set in the pressing direction of the pressing member 2. The floating of the magnetic shielding plate 7 can be inspected based on the displacement quantity of a separation distance obtained by the measuring device 3 when the magnetic shielding plate 7 is pressed by the pressing member 2.
