PURPOSE: To enable inspection for the presence of excess wiring between an unused terminal and a regular wiring network in a short time, by specifying and sensing a pin necessary for inspection using regular wiring information of an object to be inspected alone.
CONSTITUTION: Pins of a tester 3 are inserted into terminal holes of an object 5 to be inspected to enter regular wiring information of the object 5 into a processor 2 from an input unit 1 and the processor 2 actuates a switch block of the tester 3 to take the results of inspection out of an output unit 5. The pin positions of the object 5 are displayed on the XY rectangular coordinate with the pin position at the outermost end as origin. The switch block of the tester 3 comprises switches equivalent to the number of Y coordinates having drive/sense circuits equivalent to the number of X coordinates on the 1Y row and, for example, the pin 8 at the lowest coordinate position is selected from among a regular wiring network 6 in a wiring board 12 to be inspected to perform a drive/sense operation. In this manner, excess wiring between the network 6 and an unused terminal can be detected in a relatively short time.
