Abstract:

To accurately estimate a direct/indirect ratio of sounds from moving sound sources.

A microphone array comprises plural microphones provided at positions where small microphone arrays each comprising a few microphones overlap one another by parallel translation. A spatial correlation matrix calculation unit calculates a small space correlation matrix by adding or averaging spatial correlation matrices calculated for the small microphone arrays respectively by using received sound signals converted in a frequency domain. Then, an eigenvalue expansion unit performs eigenvalue expansion for the small space correlation matrix to generate eigenvalues and eigenvectors and outputs the eigenvalues. An eigenvalue distribution calculation unit quantifies the rate of the distribution of the eigenvalues to output a value equivalent to a direct/indirect ratio.
