In an engine speed meter, a pointer 30 includes a pointer main body 32 having a base part 32a supported against the end of a pointer shaft 51 and a pointer part 32b extending from the base part 32, a cap 31, and a weight balance for the base part 32, the cap 31, and the pointer part 32b. A balancer 33 is made from a high specific gravity resin material comprising a polypropylene containing tungsten powder. During molding of the balancer 33, its shape can be varied easily in accordance with various specifications of the pointer 30.
