Abstract:
Provided is an insulated wire which is less likely to experience breakage and is also able to withstand stress that is applied momentarily. Disclosed is an insulated wire 1 having a conductor 2 obtained by twisting a plurality of strands together, and a covering layer 3 covering same. In the insulated wire 1, the strands are constituted of a certain copper alloy. The conductor 2 is constituted of a central strand 2a, and a plurality of concentric strands 2b arranged centrically thereabout. The oil content sticking to the central strand 2a is 6 μg/g or less with respect to the mass of the central strand 2a. The conductor 2 has a twist pitch of 5 to 10 mm, and a cross-sectional area of 0.15 mm2 or less. The covering layer 3 is constituted of polyvinyl chloride resin. The covering layer 3 has a thickness of 0.15 to 0.25 mm.
