This insulation displacement connector 10 is composed of a connector housing 20, insulation displacement terminals 60, a terminal retainer 40, and further, a housing retainer 30. The connector housing 20 has a connector fitting part 22 having a terminal housing hole 21 at its inside, and a terminal retainer insertion hole 25 communicating the terminal housing hole 21 with the outside of the connector fitting part 22 is formed in the side wall of the connector fitting part 22. The terminal retainer 40 engages with the base end side end of a fitting connection part 61 of the insulation displacement terminal 60 of which the rod-shaped press insertion part 41 is housed in the terminal housing hole 21, and mounted on the connector fitting part 22 so as to fill the terminal housing hole 21 and the terminal retainer insertion hole 25 without any gap. The insulation displacement terminals 60 can be surely fixed to the connector housing 20 by the terminal retainer 40, and the reliability of the insulation displacement terminal 60 is improved since mold flowing into the terminal housing hole 21 is prevented from intruding into the fitting connection part 61.
