Abstract:
PURPOSE: To feed much fresh air into a cylinder at the time of starting an engine so as to improve starting performance even if a device is simple and small.
CONSTITUTION: An exhaust gas turbine type supercharger 11 is provided on an intake passage 7, and a check valve 13 is provided downstream from the supercharger 11. A bypass passage 15 is branched from the intake air passage 7 between the check valve 13 and the supercharger 11 and the bypass passage 15 is made confluent with the intake air passage 7 downstream from the check valve 13. An motor-driven air pump 17 is arranged in the bypass passage 15, and the motor-driven air pump 17 is driven and the check valve 13 is closed based on a starting signal from a main switch 19. When a prescribed engine rotational speed is detected by a rotational speed detection device 18, drive of the motor-driven air pump 17 is stopped so that the opening of the check valve 13 may be controlled.
