PURPOSE: To improve the shape holding performance of a car interior member by increasing the rigidity of the peripheral part of the interior basic member made of fiber or paper by applying the resin in much quantity than that in the center part, onto the peripheral part.

CONSTITUTION: As for an interior member such as molded ceiling, the resin in much quantity than that at a center part 2 is attached onto the peripheral part 1 of the basic member of the interior member made of paper or fiber. In the manufacture of the car interior member, different quantity of the aqueous solution of resin is sprayed onto a web 3 from the parts 41 and 42 of the first spreader device 4 which correspond to the shorter side part and the center part 2 of the peripheral part 1 of the interior basic member. Then, a large quantity of the aqueous solution of resin is sprayed onto the web 3 from the second spreader device 5 which corresponds to the longer side part in the peripheral part 1 of the interior basic member. After the drying of the interior basic member in a drying passage 6, said interior basic member is cut by a constant length cutter 7, and a constant length cut basic member 8 can be obtained.
