PURPOSE: To easily record an intermediate tone picture on a recording paper, by a method wherein the printing head having heating resistance element is pressed onto the heat transfer recording ink sheet prepared by providing the ink layer via an intermediate adhesive bond on the matrix, and thereafter, it is stepwise heated.
CONSTITUTION: The intermediate adhesive layer 2 such as polyamide resin layer or the like is formed on the matrix 1 of condenser paper or the like. Then, the ink layer 3 is formed by coating on said layer, and the heat transfer recording ink sheet is obtained. The solid transfer is carried out on the recording paper by pressing the printing head of thermal printer from the matrix side of ink sheet moving above-mentioned ink sheet piled with the recording paper and by stepwise heating the heating resistance element controlling the electric current applied to the heating resistance element of printing head.
