Abstract:
To provide an exhaust emission control system for an internal combustion engine with a filter which provides a technique for more efficiently removing PM from the filter while suppressing excessive temperature rise of the filter.
When filter regeneration control is executed (S102), if an idling transition condition for transition of the internal combustion engine into the idling operation is established (S101), the execution of the filter regeneration control is stopped and the operation of the internal combustion engine is stopped (S103, S104).
