Title:
INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE WITH STORING CHAMBER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5537551
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve a combustibility by providing a storing chamber for the cylinder head of an internal combustion engine to store a part of compressed mixed gas within the combustion chamber with the compressed air admitted from the chamber to inject volutionally within the combustion chamber during the other compression stroke.

CONSTITUTION: A storing chamber 1 is defined within a cylinder head 10, the chamber 1 thereof is being communicated to the combustion chamber 9 through pots 4 and 5 provided for the position apart from an ignition plug 12. Besides, change- over valves 2 and 3 are provided respectively. Then, in the latter hald of compression stroke one of change-over valve 3 is opened to store the compressed mixed gas contained within the combustion chamber 9 within the storing chamber 1. Thus, in the first half of compression stroke the change-over valve 2 is opened to inject volutionally the compressed mixed gas contained within the chamber 1 into the combustion chamber 9.
