Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine capable of efficiently converting a linear motion of a piston into a rotary motion.SOLUTION: In an internal combustion engine, a spiral circulation groove formed by connecting a spiral going-way groove and a returning-way groove into the closed loop shape, is recessed on an outer peripheral face of a rotation output shaft as a linear motion/rotation conversion groove, and a slider member is connected to a piston in a state of being engaged with the linear motion/rotation conversion groove, thus the piston can convert reciprocating movement into torque of the rotation output shaft. In particular, when the number of spiral circulation of the going-way groove and the returning-way groove, which is the number of times of spiral circulation around outer periphery of rotation output shaft (for example, a natural number of one or more), and the same shall apply hereafter, is one or more, the rotation output shaft can rotate one time or more respectively in going way and returning way, that is, the rotation output shaft can rotate two times or more in one reciprocating motion (two strokes) of the piston.
