Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ignite a fuel-air mixture and stably form a flame even when a fuel-air mixture flow varies inside a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine 100 includes: an ignition plug 10 having a center electrode 13 and a ground electrode 14 facing the center electrode 13 via a plug gap G; a suction chamber 22 having an opening 21 in the vicinity of the plug gap G and forming a prescribed air flow in the plug gap G by sucking a fuel-air mixture in the vicinity of the plug gap G; an on-off valve 23 for opening and closing the opening 21 of the suction chamber 22; and a control unit 30 for controlling opening and closing of the on-off valve 23.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
