To provide a headstand type movable body capable of restricting a degree of inclination even in the case that an external disturbance is applied to it and further reducing an occupying region when the movable body moves.

This headstand type movable body 10 is controlled in its motion to keep its headstand state by controlling a rotational driving of a rotating member having a circular section. This headstand type movable body 10 comprises a mounting table 22 for use in mounting an object, a driving control unit 14 for controlling a driving of the rotating member in response to a degree of inclination in respect to a vertical direction of the movable body 10 and a position displacement unit for relatively displacing a position of the object mounted on the mounting table 22 in regard to a headstand controlling direction in respect to the mounting table 22. The position displacement unit controls to displace the position of the object in such a direction that an amount of rotation of the rotating member driven by the driving control unit 14 is reduced in order to keep its headstand state.
