To provide an inverter circuit which is highly safe and which can prevent a capacitor from being broken, even if induced voltage is produced.

This inverter device is provided with a motor 17 for generating induced voltage, an inverter 15 connected to the motor, a capacitor 13 connected through the inverter 15, and an inverter voltage detection circuit detecting the inverter voltage of the inverter 15. If the inverter voltage detected by the inverter voltage detection circuit exceeds the capacitor resistance voltage of the capacitor 13, the electrical connection between the capacitor 13 and the motor 17 is turned off. Thus, the capacitor 13 can be prevented from being broken.
