Title:
INVERTER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2017139901
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide, in an inverter that turns off a switching element for protecting the switching element from overcurrent, a technique that reduces damage to the switching element by making the speed at which the switching element is switched off, differ in an appropriate situation.SOLUTION: An inverter disclosed by this specification comprises a drive circuit that is able to generate a first signal that turns off a switching element, and a second signal that is faster than the first signal in the speed at which the switching element is switched from an ON state to an OFF state. If overcurrent is detected during the turning on of the switching element by a controller that controls the inverter and before a predetermined time elapses from the timing of turning on the switching element (NO in S12), the drive circuit outputs the first signal to the switching element (S16). If overcurrent is detected during the turning on of the switching element and after the predetermined time elapses (YES in S12), the drive circuit outputs the second signal (S14).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
