Title:
ION-EXCHANGE CELLULOSE BODY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5966353
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To manufacture the titled exchange cellulose body useful for classifying or refining ionic macromolecular substance, by reacting cellulose with N, N'- bis(chloroethyl) piperazine hydrochloride.

CONSTITUTION: The ion-exchange cellulose body useful for classifying or refining ionic macromolecular substance, e.g. protein, nucleic acids or enzyme, is obtained by reacting cellulose with, N, N'-bis(chloroethyl) piperazine hydrochloride. For instance, 20g a fine powdery body of cellulose is dispersed in 60ml an aqueous solution containing 28g NaOH and held at 0°C for 30min. Thereafter, a solution perpd. by dissolving 19g N, N'-bis(chloroethyl) piperazine hydrochloride in 15ml pure water is added to said cellulose-NaOH mixed liquid at once and agitatively reacted at 80W85°C for 30min. The resulting reaction mixture is filtered. After bsing washed with an aqueous 2M NaCl solution, an aqueous 1N NaOH solution, an aqueous 1N hydrochloric acid solution and then water or the like, it is dried to manufacture the ion-exchange body.
