Abstract:

To provide an improved positive electrode with, an alkali cell of high capacity.

This cell provides an iron compound oxide electrode, using as an active material of iron compound oxide represented by a formula M1xFe1-yM2yO4 (where, M1 is at least one element selected from among Li, Na, K, Rb, Cs, Be, Mg, Ca, Sr, Br, Zn, Cd, Cu, Ag, and Ba, M2 is at least one element selected from 1-valent to 6-valent elements other than Fe, and x and y are such that 0<x≤5, 0≤y≤0.5, respectively) and adding at least one compound of Co compound or a Ni compound, and the alkali cell using the iron compound oxide electrode.
