Title:
IRON-NEODYMIUM-BORON TYPE ALLOY FOR PERMANENT MAGNET, SINTERED PERMANENT MAGNET AND MANUFACTURE OF THIS SINTERED PERMANENT MAGNET
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH03180450
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain an Fe-Nd-B type alloy for permanent magnets which is excellent in magnetic properties at an environmental temp. and high temp. and good in erosion resistance by specifying a composition consisting of rare earth element, Co, B, V, Al, Cu and Fe.

CONSTITUTION: The alloy for permanent magnets is composed of an alloy consisting of 12-18 atomic % rare earth element, 3-30% Co, 5.9-12% B, 2-10% V, further, 0.7<Al<1.2% and 0.01<Cu<0.2%, or Al<1.2% and 0.01<Cu<0.05% and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities. In the alloy, the element V is respectively completely or partially substitutable to 6% in total by one or more elements among Nb, W, Mo, Cr and Ti, and to 50% by one or more elements among Zr, Hf and Ta, that is, to 1-5% in total. It is preferable to properly limit O, N, C, Be, Bi, Ca, Mg, Sn, Cl, F, P, S and Sb in the impurities. In this way, Fe-Nd-B type alloy for permanent magnets which maintains good magnetic properties in even high-temp. erosive environment similarly at the environmental temp. is obtained.
