PURPOSE: To normally use the communication function in any case regardless of the presence of an output signal of a connection detector by adopting the constitution such that whether a signal of the connection detector is valid or invalid depending on the presence of station power supply
CONSTITUTION: When this terminal equipment is connected to an exchange supporting station power supply and used for communication, the user selects a station power supply presence changeover switch 5 to the position of 'presence'. A control section 3 throws a connection detection valid/invalid changeover switch 4 to the position of 'valid' in interlocking with the changeover of the switch 5. When the terminal equipment is connected to an exchange not supporting the station power supply and used for communication and the user throws the switch 5 to the position of 'absence', the control section 3 throws the connection detection valid/invalid changeover switch 4 to the position of 'invalid' in interlocking with the changeover of the switch 5. Thus, the connection detector 2 always the nonconnection state because of absence of station power supply, but the switch 4 is thrown to the position of 'invalid 4b', a nonconnection signal is not delivered to an I interface 1 and the switch 4 outputs a connection signal of logical 1 to the interface 1. Thus, the communication function is kept between the interface 1 and the control section 3.
