Abstract:
To display a job name in a job name display area so that jobs constituting the same group can be recognized.SOLUTION: A PDL conversion device rewrites a job described in a system-specific PDL received from an upstream system into a PDL usable in an open environment. When the job reaches a size that cannot be processed by a continuous paper printer 20 due to the rewriting, the job is divided, but divided job names are generated by adding codes 51a, 51b, and 51c indicating the jobs constituting the same group at the heads of the job names of the respective divided jobs according to a naming rule defined in grouping information. Although a job list is displayed on a display part in the continuous paper printer, even if the length of the displayable job name is limited, the codes 51a, 51b, and 51c added at the heads of the divided job names are reliably displayed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
