Title:
JOSEPHSON MIXER AND ITS MANUFACTURE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH04241479
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide a Josephson mixer 1 exhibiting Josephson effect and a method for fabricating the same by making sizes of grain boundaries of a high temperature oxide semiconductor as uniform as possible and making a bridge part 2 into a predetermined size in a weak link element. CONSTITUTION:A Josephson mixer 1 comprises a high temperature oxide superconductor bulk made of a sintered body of approximately uniform particles having an average particle diameter of 15mum or less with a weak link part having such a shape that bridge width is 100mum or less, thickness is 50mum or less and length is 300mum or less provided. In addition a method for fabricating the Josephson mixer comprises steps for having superconducting fine particle powder formed by a coprecipitation method subjected to primary baking in the atmosphere at 830 to 890 deg.C for 9 hours, pressing the primarily baked powder into a predetermined shape, having the shaped body to secondary baking in oxygen at 910 to 945 deg.C for 8 hours, forming the high temperature oxide superconductor bulk made of the sintered body of approximately uniform particles having an average particle diameter of 15mum or less, polishing the bulk to thickness of 50mum or less and forming a weak link part of such a shape that bridge width is 100mum or less and length is 300mum or less by supersonic wave treatment.
