PURPOSE: To bring the KANA (Japanese syllabary) character-string which is corrected to KANA to KANJI (Chinese character) conversion again by executing a correction of reading by executing a space insertion into the front of an arbitrary character of a reading correction object KANA character-string, a deletion of an arbitrary character, and also, a substitution to other KANA character by one character unit.

CONSTITUTION: A homonym which is outputted as a result of KANA to KANJI conversion is accumulated in a conversion result storage buffer 27. An editing work part 24 displays a temporary conversion result by using a screen display processing part 26. When a function key 13 and a space key 17 are operated in order to correct reading and its fact is detected by an input control part 21, the editing work part 24 retrieves a homonym group, reads out a word consisting of KANA characters, and delivers it to the screen display processing part 26. When a notice from the editing work part 24 is received, the input control part 21 delivers a KANA character-string to a KANA to KANJI converting part 22. The KANA to KANJI converting part 22 executes a KANA to KANJI conversion (reconversion) with respect to the KANA character-string containing a reading correction character which is delivered form the input control part 21.
