PURPOSE: To facilitate management of exchanged disks by inputting a fresh disk number exceeding the max. management number at the time of replacing the disk in an autochanger with another disk.

CONSTITUTION: This equipment is capable of playing even a disk exceeding the max. manageable number by converting this disk number to the number within the restriction of the max. manageable number. The disk under use is selected and the fresh disk number exceeding the max. manageable number is inputted at the time of replacing the disk in the autochanger with another disk, by which the disk number is rewritten with the selected disk number at the time of use. As a result, the playing of a desired disk is executed simply by assigning a fresh number even if the disk is exchanged and, therefore, only the booklet for the fresh disks is merely necessitated to be prepd. aside from the booklet printed with conventional bar codes and the management of the used disks is facilitated.
