Title:
KNOCK DETERMINING DEVICE OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2011132814
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To accurately detect a knocking of an internal combustion engine by determining the presence or absence of the knocking over a wider frequency band.

A knock determining device of an internal combustion engine includes a vibration detecting part B201 for detecting the vibrations of an internal combustion engine, an extraction means B205 for extracting from the detected signal the vibrational components in a plurality of frequency regions which become peak positions of vibration intensity when knock occurs, a background-noise calculating means B206 for calculating background noise which are vibrations caused by factors other than knocking, and knock determination means B208-B211 for determining the presence and absence of knocking on the basis of vibration intensity in specific frequency regions which are the rest of the regions obtained by excluding the frequency regions determined on the basis of the vibration intensity of the background noises from a plurality of extracted frequency regions, wherein the knock determination means B208-B211 determine the presence and absence of knocking by increasing the number of specific frequency regions as the background noise is increased.
