Title:
KNOCKING DETECTOR FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH07306119
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To detect the attaching looseness of a knocking sensor quickly and accurately.

CONSTITUTION: The output based on the knocking generated in an internal combustion engine from a knocking sensor 8 is amplified by a gain switch 12. The output is divided into a plurality of frequency bands by a digital filter 5 provided in a DSP 13. The abnormality of the knocking sensor 8 is detected by a knocking judging means 6 provided in the DSP 13 by using the specified frequency band among a plurality of the frequency bands. In this way, the attaching looseness of the knocking sensor 8 is accurately detected by using the specified frequency band in the output characteristics in detection of the knocking generated in the internal combustion engine from the knocking sensor 8.
