This knuckle bracket 2 for a strut type hydraulic shock absorber attached on a cylindrical outer shell 3 and connected to a knuckle 4 is provided with an outer shell fitting part 11 fitting on the outer shell 3, a pair of flange part 12 interposing the knuckle 4, a bolt seat 15 expanding around a bolt hole, and a bolt seat encircling rib 31 bulging from the flange part 12 to encircle the bolt seat 15 and connecting to the outer shell fitting part 11 without a step. The bolt seat encircling rib 31 is formed in the outer shell 3 side of the flange part 12 along the outer circumference of the bolt seat 15 in a roughly semicircle arc shape.
