Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enable quantitative and accurate measurement, by reproducing a mixture layer waveform alone from a combined waveform of an ore layer waveform and the mixture layer waveform as outputted from magnetic sensors to determine the thickness of the mixture layer and the mixing ratio.

CONSTITUTION: An upper sensor (magnetic sensor) 2 and a lower sensor (magnetic sensor) 2 are arranged apart along the height of a blast furnace wall 1. As an ore layer 4 such as sintered ore and a coke layer 5 as loaded in layers lower, an excitation waveforms come from the sensors 2 and 3 to obtain the thickness of the ore layer and the thickness of the coke layer. When a fundamental waveform comprising an ore layer waveform (a) only is combined with a mixture layer waveform (b), a combined waveform (c) is obtained. Conversely, when the waveform (c) is obtained, the subtraction of the waveform (a) from the waveform leaves the waveform (b). The mixing ration and the tickness of the mixture layer can be determined from the waveform (b) left. Thus, the thickness of the mixture layer, the mixing ratio and the like can be measured quantitatively and accurately.
