Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a method for assembling a magnetic disk drive integrally constituted by a rotor frame holding a magnetic disk and a motor for driving the rotor frame, specially a practical method for applying a pre-load to a pair of roller bearings for holding the rotor frame freely rotatably to the fixed shafts.
CONSTITUTION: A pair of roller bearings 4 and 5 are respectively inserted in a through hole made in a rotor frame 6 so that only inner rings 4a and 5a are movable in the direction where they approach each other, maintaining the aforementioned condition a fixed shaft 2 is inserted in the through hole with an external force applied in the direction in which both two inner rings 4a and 5a approach each other to bond the fixed axis 2 to the inner rings, and finally the fixed shaft 2 is fixed to a mounting frame 1.
