Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a malfunction of a monitor diode due to light from outside by providing a laser diode, a projection window for advancing its outgoing light in the required direction and an optical member reflecting the outgoing light.
SOLUTION: In a laser diode package 200, external light (b) is scattered while passing through a groove 20. Then, the external light (b) made incident on the monitor diode 12 is remarkably small in its intensity. That is, the magnitude of the monitoring current is so small as to be changed. Therefore, only the light of the laser diode 11 reflected from a surface 18 of a transparent plate 15 is substantially made incident on the monitor diode 12. Thus, the monitor diode 12 outputs a monitor current in proportion to the light output of the laser diode 11. Further, the external light may be interrupted by processing the surface of the groove 20 of the transparent plate 15 with gross.
