PURPOSE: To provided crystalline layered mixed metal hydroxides(LMMHs) which are substantially free of unbound water.
CONSTITUTION: This LMMH is substantially a crystalline and is shown by the formula of LimDdT(OH)(3+m+d) [in the formula, (m) represents an amount of Li of 0 to 1, D represents at least one divalent metal cation of Mg, Ca, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu or Zn, (d) represents an amount of D of 0 to 8.0, T represents the unit amount of at least one trivalent metal cation of Al, Fe and Cr, (3+m+d) represents an amount of OH satisfying the required valence of Li, D and T and in this case, (m+d) is not 0). The LMMH has feathers of a single layer and single distribution type or a multilayer and non-uniform distribution type and being substantially free of unbound water.
